Cast Exhaust Manifolds. :)

Right, I have been looking into getting some decent strong cast manifolds to replace the choccy ones as standard. I have found someone to produce them and has produced some top quality parts. Price wise I am still in the process of getting a price, however it will not be more than £600 a pair(including vat) and depending on how many(if any) other people are interested this cost could drop to around the £500 mark - which is only about £100ish more than standard manifolds.
No more cracking, no more hassle.
So...anyone interested?

Isnt that what the current ones are?
But for a decent set I was quoted (about 2 years ago) around the £1100 mark...

Stainless is more prone to crack than mild steel and Im assuming the current ones are mild steel?

Also worth noting that cast manifold will reduce noise and exhaust tone will change quite a bit.... good idea tho as my manifold craked the other week and needed welding up, but for now i will stick with the std ones.

Isn't the cracking down to the design of the engine mounts and the turbo hanging off it as opposed to a fundamental flaw in the actual manifold?

yep


Solid mounts would fix the problem and stop exhaust brackets braking but would make the car unbearable/undrivable

So what about some more solid mounts and something to futher support the turbo that moves with the engine subframe?

I ask as just making the manifold stronger seems like it might transfer the load to the next weakest point which might be rather more expensive to repair?
