HELP - Urgent track sump info required
Discussion
My 2.5 has just developed an oil leak which has left a puddle on the workshop floor. Upon investigation it appears to be comoing from a corner weld on the sump. The stainless steel braided hose that comes off the bottom of the fuel tank has been jammed in the gap between the corner of the sump and the chassis. Over time the braiding on the pipe has filed its way through the aluminium.
I only discovered this yesterday and I am booked on a track day tommorow
Question is, can the sump be removed easily (or otherwise) without removing the engine?

gizard,
The sump was in when I bought the car. I can't see any removable sections so I am guessing it was done with the engine out.
I think I'll have to try and plug the hole with a self-tapper and then JB-Weld it to hold it in place and seal around it. Have to keep a close wath during the day to ensure it doesn't leak.
Yep, Castle Coombe - will I see you there?

You´re not having much luck are you Steve?
Have you driven it since Brunters (apart from picking it up)?
Hope all ends well.
Simon
Done about 1500 miles since the Brunters saga. The enjoyment in those miles more than compensate for the current glitch. Still love the car and driving it, hopefully tommorow will be trouble-free (touches wood). I guess it's just one of the joys of owning a low volume British sports car....Ho Hum.Have you driven it since Brunters (apart from picking it up)?

Murphys Law strikes again
Blew off the front turbo hose on the way up to the circuit at 6am - not easy to find/fix in the pitch black!
Got to the circuit just in time and then managed to break a wheel stud in session 3
I've had better days.
Still, Andy had his TVR so I was able to drive that in the afternoon which made up for it a bit. I'd forgotton how different the two cars are!
