Love my Noble . . . . . . . NOT !

Alarm went off about 2am. Ran down in bare feet b/b batt in hand and .... nothing ... so went and got the keys and turned the alarm off .... but the siren kept going and going and going !!! Frantic lifting of clams looking for pin switches etc and re switching the alarm on and off and even starting the engine all to no avail ! Then it just stops ? So with all clams lifted and the alarm switched off I troll through the alarm data on the disc and I think its the inteligent cable between the alarm and the siren that maybe at fault which would set the siren off, but when I turn the alarm off the siren does not get the signal so it carries on ringing.
Any one any thoughts/experience of this ?

Is the car inside or outside? Moisture could be causing a short somewhere.

Have you:

- tried changing the blipper to the spare - replaced the batteries lately?
- cleaned the rear clam switch?
- reset the alarm via the blipper?
- checked that the windows and dash side vents are closed (air across the dash side end sensors will set the alrm off)?

I've been in that situation before. I had left the car sitting around for around 17days without starting her up and the alarm went off in the early hours too. I took the car out and drove it for about an hour and it fixed the problem. Seemed like the battery was running low thats all.

when one turns the alarm off cant you count the flashes of the led to get a code for what triggered it? suppose its a bit late to look now though.

That is an alarm fault not a fault to be held against your lovely car.

mine has a mind of its own. i drive it every day so there is no battery fault. some times it goes off every 30 mins 24 hrs a day for a day or 2 then is fine for a week then it plays up again. its not wet related as it has been fine recently and has gone off on dry days. i have given up trying to work it out and have just kept appologising to the cul-de-sac!! i may ask them to look at it when it next has a service but i have a long list already to look at and it is killing my wallet!

i do love my noble but some days i would happily stap it (and do) for the fiance's VW polo.

Sorry I haven't made it very clear,when I push the alarm button it responds as it should do and turns off and unlocks the doors etc but it does not tell the siren to shut up !!
The car even starts so it must be a signal problem to the siren ? Maybe I can unplug the siren for now when the alarm is dis armed and hopefully the siren wont go off.

i no what you mean nobel is a good car but they are a pain in the ass at times, to you gotta haver one. iv had more probs with my noble than all my cars put together, lucky im in the trade,

I had the same problem only i ran outside half dressed and with only one shoe on, had to take the car on a 5 mile drive until it stopped, good job the cops did'nt stop me, it was 2am in the morning. The fault was the siren , which i had replaced.

I had this. Absolutely peeing down and the car was thoroughly wet. The siren started out of the blue at about 90mph. Very annoying. It is either the alarm siren or water ingress to the relays above the battery at the bulk head.
Until you find the fault, you can unplug the siren..

Mine has not done it since and all I did was dry up the relays. This was 2 year ago.

just bought a new siren direct from autowatch for mine. (casing had broken) cost about 29 quid plus vat and was delivered within 2 days.

might be worth swopping it to see if it fixes problem.

i got access to mine from underneath as i reckon it was less hassle than removing stuff from above

I have this exact problem right now too. There must be something in the rain!

Its driving me insane. I can put the imob on and off ok, I can even drive the car round just fine... but with the alarm still going off!... It will stop after an extended period of time, only to start again. Even if I leave the car unlocked, it still goes off.


Guys Im going to need some help on disconnecting the siren.

I would be good to go except im not EXACTLY sure which cable it is.

Am I correct in thinking that (A) is the siren unit?

I wish it was(B) that needs unplugging, but I suspect its not, as this cable clearly runs into whatever that device is below the blue valve (Im hoping im wrong, and that IS the siren)

It seems that the cable connector coming from (A) goes under the main box cover thing (C) I can JUST get my hand to it, but I know that I'll never get it back in, if I do manage to disconnect it, and that its probably cable tied too, making it harder.

Are my assumptions correct, should I reach under and try to disconnect that cable?

Witout checking my car, I think you are right. When I had the fault, the plug was so inaccessable that I cut the cable in desparation and reconnected with a new plug.
I will chek it for you tommorrow. I have a new alarm on a shelf in the garage, so will check the type of plug on that too.

Just disconnected mine. It is the plug cable tied under the box. I cut the tie and that allowed the connector to come out near your 'B'connector. Now all is silent !!
I think it might just need a clean up but have noticed
that my LED doesn't work so that will need sorting too.
