Only 1 fan running?

hi had my 3r for 2 weeks now and love it!

could anyone tell me are both fans supposed to kick in when it gets hot?
noticed only 1 spinning the other day after a fairly spirited run, temp gauge was on 90.

forgive my ignorance not mechanicly minded!

Yes, both fans should run when turned on by ECU. Take a look at the wiring/connections, check for corrosion.

Also spin non-working fan by hand - does it spin or is it locked (ie: bearing seized)?

Thanks for your suggestions,wiring looks good and clean and the non working fan spins freely by hand.
can they be tested in any way,say by halfords or would i need to take it to a specialist auto electrician.

Without looking at mine (its on holiday for a few days while new garage roof fitted) can the wires be swapped to try on the other one?

If you get the lead and the software you can switch the fans on and off and test all manner of things yourself.

Should be very straightforward to test and diagnose--no specialist required, IMO.

had a fiddle with the connections whilst the fan was running,seems it was just a bad connection,squeezed the blade type connector in to the block and the fan kicked in,joy!
looks like the blade thingy-m-jig is to long and isnt sitting snug.
anyway will keep my eye on it,thanks for all your advice once again.
