About to renew the coolant in a Noble.

Mine has some fluroescent green stuff in it right now.

As a MR2 specialist, i buy Toyota Forlife Red coolant by the barrel.

Any reason why i can't use that?

If not, what is recommended?

Any reliable ethylene-glycol type A/F will be OK. Fluorescents can be handy for tracking "odd" leaks with a black light, but that can be introduced with special kits if required.

if your fluid is not red dont mix the coolant together, when they mix it becomes like wax and blocks heater matrix and rads very fast and you will neva get it all out,

Right now, the car i am filling has been totally dry of coolant for at least 6 months, so i'm guessing there is nothing to "mix".

So what coolant was used by Noble?

my coolant is pink/red

and mine's blue. Lol in the book there is a picture of the coolant tank and it's blue. Isn't the difference between the 2 something to do with operating temp?

One of the primary functions on a day to day basis of coolant is that it's a corrosion inhibitor, there are (as has been mentioned) at least 3 different types working in seperate Ph levels and with differing inhibitors, silicates Etc. They all do the same job though, but some are designed with longer operating life in mind.

If you've had coolant out of the system for that long, I'd suggest getting a good strong mix in for a while, get some hours on it, then flush it all out and replace it with fresh stuff to the correct SG/strength?

again even if the car has no coolant in car make sure the matrix and rad are totaly free of coolant as you may still have standing water,

noble recommend shell, cant remember the exact name sorry. oh its red

The make of coolant is not that important, my advise is dont fill with red if the car did not come with red,
