petrol tank always full?!?
Discussion
i have a problem with my fuel gauge and was wondering if anyone else has come across the same problem. basically it always reads full. then within about a mile goes from full to 1/4 tank.
The previous owner had the same problem and apparently fixed it a year or so ago but it has broken again. The main dealers have quoted £300 ish to fix it. i have no mechanical skills or tools so cant do anything myself so i am pretty much stuck with no other option. however if this is common and will just happen again i wont bother fixing it.
the trouble is it is my only car and i drive it every day and not gently either! i am currently filling it up every 100 miles which is basically every other day, how many miles will i get to a tank on average if i am hacking it down fast country lanes all the time? i have no idea really hence filling up at 100 miles. that amount of petrol costs me about £28-30. i'm mathmatically inept and also dont know the size of the tank so could someone estimate how far i can go before refulling so i can spend more time on the road.. i'd really appreciate it lol.

60 litre tank, on early cars when the guage read empty you ran out, on later cars empty meant 20 litres. I would expect 23+ ish mpg on the road The previous owner had the same problem and apparently fixed it a year or so ago but it has broken again.
