price of car

put my car on the pistonheades classifieds.but looking at the rest on there makes me wonder if its up for to much.at the time i thought it about right but it is my pride and joy so maybe emotion rather than sensibility has set the price

Art, that question's right up there with how longs a piece of string. I don't think you're asking too much for it tho. Yes there are GT03's out there for that kind of money but if someone's out there looking for something a little bit different, your car fits the bill. Good luck with the sale and lets hope it goes to a good home.

Wouldnt sell anything at the moment, things being the way they are. Had my car valued on line by one of these companies that prey on the desperate = we buy any car .com, offered me 12k.Obviously told them to do one.
GTO3 12.5k miles 1 previous owner mint condition .

Art, I'm in the same boat mate. I will obviously be ready to bargain on the price but I do think it's truely the wrong time to be selling, let alone the fact that its xmas aswell.

I'm going to stick it out for a while as I'm in no rush. The sale of the car is just to fund my next purchase and i love driving it so I'm not losing out!!!

BTW when I saw yours I thought someone will get a fantastic car for that not a lot of money.

Also noticed obes old car in the classifieds.

Artie I noticed in your ad that you've had all engine heat foil replaced. Did you manage to get that direct from the factory? If so can you remember rough cost?

we have laggers on site all the time so get mine for next to nothing or sometimes nothing.they are off site till the new year but i can ask to see what sort of price i can get it for when they return.its good thick stuff used on really really hot pipe work and it stays for around 18months at a time.that is obviously 24 7 so a lifetime on your car

I got offered 23K this time last year. With my diff breaking the week before I was thinking of getting rid, that 23K seemed a reasonable offer. But 12K.....

That 12K bid isn't relevant.That website is for people desperate to get out, they offer at least 35% under book,and sell straight out again to the trade again.There's a few threads about them in General Gassing, everyone moaning that they take the piss.They don't, they simply offer as little as possible on a "take it or leave it" basis.Some people are really that desperate ,and it suits them, not everyone else.

you can buy a crate engine from the states for pretty good money - refurb the gearbox to take the power and fit two larger turbo's and i think you should see over 400 bhp

Actually we here in the States with 3R's see about 500bhp (410 whp) using the stock 3R turbos,an upgraded true dual exhaust, an upgraded intercooler and a conservative remap. That's more than enough to outrun a stock M400. There is really no real need to go to larger turbos. This combination also keeps the car well balanced and within the limits of the stock M12 chassis.

Really as simple as that? surely theres more to getting 500 bhp? theres no difference between uk and us models so why arent the 3r's here seeing 500 with those simple mods done?

the Dyno's that are used in the states are typically 12-17% optimistic

basically they got the calibration wrong in the early days when testing the most powerful bike at the time - the Yamaha Vmax, the 145 bhp bike turned out to have 115 / 120 !!

(i'm not really interested in getting into a discussion about dyno accuracy here)

basically you can have more power if you want to go for it !
