Am I right?

When I move my car out of my garage, even when the car is dry, I find a damp looking patch under the nearside front wheel.Odourless and not oily looking. Is this likely to be a leaking shock? Haven't noticed any change in the handling, but then it might be very gradual and I'm adjusting to it. Its been going on for sometime. Though I rarely use it, can it be aircon?

AFAIK all aircon has a drain pipe that bleeds out liquid - it's more noticable after a run when the car is standing so if it happens when you've used the aircon then that's most likely it.

If it's your shock there will most likely be a damp looking crust of road film / crud stuck to the spring and body, also I believe it would leave a more oily stain than you suggest.

Very unlikely to be the shock. I've never seen oil from a shock on a driveway as it all pumps out on the road beforehand and is usually quite thick.

As AMG said either aircon or just a plain coolant leak. Watch the levels to see if they start dropping.

Yeah, that was my first thought.
Check the hoses aren't on their last legs and the clips are all nice and tight.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I will check out the coolant first. I suppose any fluid will run off somewhere and if my floor runs that way slightly, it could drip on that corner.
