Wahoo,new MOT and no probs!!
Discussion
Had to bring the Noble out of hiding today to get it MOT'd as it expired yesterday. Bloody hell it is slippery out there!!!!!
Anyway the car sailed through the test and really impressed the MOT tester during a little drive. I think the quote was something like this "F**K me, this feels as quick as my bike!". Happy with that.
Now she's home I've tucked her back up in the warm after degreasing and re oiling everything. I know I'm anal.

It probably is as quick as his bike
Can I ask, was it you that had handbrake issues the last time you did the MOT? I'm probably getting mixed up with someone else...
I had handbrake issues. They had to take the assebly apart I think and set it up correctly bothe sides as one side wasn't doing much.

Hmmm....unless his bike was no bigger than a 400! I have a 3R and Ducati 1098s. 1098s will trounce 3r to top speed 0-100 about 5.5 secs (depends who you hear it from). Love having both though!!
Stewey, very true mate He has an R1 and i'm sure it was just a way of expressing how fast he thought it was. Mind you i have had alot of mates with bikes in it and they all say the same. My brother in law is in the 'Flying Gunners' (Army display team) and even he says the Noble is more fun. Now that's respect as he does some completely crazy s**t

). Like I say though, I'm no expert, so I may have been racing, erm I mean driving very carefully, against 25cc mopeds with body kits
. One thing I do know for sure is that a drag against a similarly fast bike to the car is a rush that I don't get anywhere else. Silly perhaps, but...

I think people may have taken my comments a little to seriously, as I'm not saying Noble is as quick as a bike in a straight line!! All I was stating is that alot of friends that are bikers always say the same. I'm sure it's just that kick in the back sensation the Noble gives you. Most of them have only ever felt that on a bike as they have fairly normal cars.

I know what you mean..i have had bikes for the last 15 years, so you just get used to the performance / acceleration. It doesn;t feel that fast when it becomes the norm. But, if i take non-biker friends on it at 100mph they think it feels like 200! My noble was the first 'performance' car i have owned, and i still remember the feeling when out for the test drive. I remember saying 'i didn't know cars could go this quick! But as soon as this became the norm, you always hanker for that bit more power!

Of course we can't give big bikes a run the the money in a straight line but the Noble does impress the 2-wheelers - especially on the bends (where the sensible bikers usually back off for safety reasons).
One thing I always consider (in some friendly smugness), whilst in the act of dragging with a 2-wheeler, is that I'm a) in the warm/cold, b) listening to sounds of my choice, c) comfortably seated and d) more likely to arrive alive.

But time them both on a mountain road and it'll be the boot on the other foot
Martin.
PS - I'm a biker too.
