Sort of, yes. They appear to be based on standard Ford items but the bearing diameter is different and so standard Ford hubs won't fit Noble bearings and vice-versa Ford bearings/Noble hubs.

However, if you want to replace bearing and hub assembly together, then the Ford bearing and hub combo fits in the Noble upright. That combo may not save you over the Noble part alone, but at least you can guarantee that the run-out will be in spec, unlike the Noble items, some of which I have seen to have enormous run-out and consequent brake judder (eh RobP!!)

Hi Trevor, trust all is well with you.
Is the Ford bearing suitable for the application ?

Strangley enough the reason why I need a new one is because of the run out and vibration under braking.

Do you happen to know the ford part numbers etc?

Indeedy.. judder and high spots on the disc to boot. So they have to go (or be skimmed)as well.
And to answer GTO400s question, yes, they are more than adequate for the job. In fact much better than originals - this is now by far the longest I've run a 3R/M400 without without judder, shake, rattle and roll from hub/discs. Many track days included.

Sorry, Leon, can't remember the numbers off the top of my head. I believe you should be alright ordering the Mondeo ST220 hubs all round.

Kevin,

Everything fine here. Hope all's well with you. As RobP testifies, the Ford units are well up to the job....

Would this be the same for the 2.5? i.e. Full Hub Assy from Ford will fit. Also if using one would all the others need to be changed?

Bondy

Leon, go to Fordparts.co.uk. the guy there is great at responding to emails and he will give you all part numbers. He has helped me a few times.

Leon,

Try bearing kit 93BX-1K018-AA with hub 93BB-1104-AF. As far as I can tell from the drawings these should do the job.

Noble parts. Trevor is this the same for 3ltr and 2.5 cars?

Any idea what the rears would be. Only interested so this info can go on the parts data base on noble parts for the future.

Bondy,

2.5 - 3.0l - don't know for sure, but I think so. And the Mondeo hubs should fit all round - the splines are correct for the driveshafts.

Thanks Trevor. smile
£156 for both seems more reasonable than £140+vat for just the hub!

Leon - ref your email

You've made me think, and as far as I'm aware, the parts are common right up to ST200 - the ST220 had 5-stud wheels/hubs. So yes, my mistake for saying ST220 - should have said ST200 which was the 4-stud wheel/hub.

Hmmm maybe switching to the 5 stud upright and hub combo would open up the wheel option a bit more ?

All the talk of trouble with wheels has anyone had some made to your own spec? These do just that. http://www.braid.es/indexENG.html

Exactly what i was thinking. But i think you would need new discs and it would end up being quite costly. But is it possible to do the swap?

People have considered it but the cost of new wheels, hubs, bearings, and don't forget the disc bells - need to get them 5-stud holes as well - and the rear bells with the handbrake drum built in is taking Alex a minimum order of ten sets to get made....

Not quite so trivial then....

Don't let that stop you, though.....

Ah yea Damn ! The bells prob not too much of a problem but the rears I think would be unless its possible to re-drill the existing ones ? Is the stud pattern still 100 PCD ? In which case maybe one of the original stud holes could be used.... ?
