Just a quickie,

I've noticed for some time now, following Nobles in the classifieds etc that I've never spotted another 3R with an oil temp & pressure guage as fitted to mine - well at least if they have one it's not in the same place!

So is my 3R the only car to have this dual guage set just below the silver instrument panel on the centre console?

Dull question I know, but am bored at work right now and this has always puzzled me as all the 3r's have the baffled sump so I guessed they'd all have this guage!

The other semi-interest for me here is that my car was owned by the press officer at the factory before I bought it (Simon?) so just wondered if it had some extra's.

My car is the 3r featured in the road test section of Pistonheads - yep, she's a bute.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Si

Think it was an optional extra from the factory, perhaps your's was a test on one of the last 3-r's before the M400's were fitted with them?

I think Jenx has that (or it maybe they were meant to fit it but forgot in the build. It was a long time ago).

The baffled sump was still an option on the 3R for a good part of it's run.

As far as I know it was a standard car. He pops in every so often so might know better smile

Simon, is your car Red? If so I drove it with Simon around the Leicestershire countryside and it features on an early Top Gear.

Re the dual oil gauge, this is an add-on to the 3R (standard on the M400 IIRC). Lee thought it unneccessary but owners, liking more information on the move, fitted them. Yours is one of a few.

mine has the gauges too and a few other optional extra's

looking at the chassis number mine could be a 3r - but has the GTo3 lights ?

Hey thanks for the replies - so maybe not such a dumb question after all!

My car is Azure Blue build no 54 so early-ish and not red!

Shame Lee thought it wasn't needed as as standard as I must admit it's my first reference point before booting it!

Thanks guys,

Si

It was not standard on the 3R, was on the M400.

I had a late 3R and a very late M400.
