New exhaust

The baffles in my exhaust have been rattling for about 2 years and the box has just about rusted away in places. I'm going to get one manufactured by JP Exhausts in Macclesfield. They were recommended by a customer who was selling upgrades, etc for Clios. They've been out to my home to look at the job and given me a price. I've got a bit of work to do in getting the floor pan off and refitted with self-tappers, etc. as well as replacing badly corroded space frame underneath the box before the new exhaust goes on. The rep asked me to get hold of the gaskets betwen exhaust and manifold. Are they a Noble part or sourced from Ford? Cheers for any info. The cars a 52 GTO3.

Hi Peter. Yes, gasket between turbo and front pipes. Is it the same for rear and front turbos?

Just going off the subject a bit, is it better do you think to refix the floor with self tappers than with rivets, I had thought of it but nobody else had mentioned it

Any chance of PM ing me what they are charging, does this include new cats?. I also think the gasket for the turbo to exhaust is the same for 2.5 and 3 is it not as they are the same turbos?

Did my floor with stainless steel self tappers and despite the "they will fall out", they are all still there. Had ther chassis cleaned and waxoyled at the same time. bh of a job but worth it.

Yeah, It's called a countersunk screw.

or these, which is what i will be using on my section under the engine.
i have made a slightly thicker panel using the origional as a template.

the recepticle for these fasteners (will use the one which is normally panel mounted with a nut on the back) has a strange thread which i couldnt find a tap for as i will need to tap the box section to accept the recepticle.

managed to get a tap manufactured (dont ask how!)

just need some free time to do the work now, maybe when the garage gets a bit warmer

Yes, mine were OK too. Used them on the front and it made the removal last month miles easier than first time round.
