Battery has gone flat :(

Hi Guys

I went to take the car out for a spin today but the battery is flat.

might be a silly question but whats the best thing to do?

Charge it up. How long has it been sitting? mine has been sitting alot lately and usually runs down after 3/4 weeks, altho now have a battery conditioner fitted.

Make sure you check the terminals to ensure they are tight and make sure your jump leads have surge protectors,Idealy just trickle charge it when its standing so much easier in the cold weather

you could always bump start it if you can get a push

I jump started it in the end, but think i will get a charger like everyone said.

where is the best place to get a trickle charger from? do i need a certain one?

surge protectors stop voltage surge to the battery from the jump vehicle stops ECUs getting voltage spikes,also use them when welding without disconnecting the battery.If you have a good set of leads they will be build in looks like a elongated box in the leads.

Google CTEK, they make a range of battery conditioners that you connect a flylead to the system and when leaving it for a long time just plug it in and it keeps it topped up. they are fairly cheap as well.

You can buy an adapter so you can plug it into the fag lighter. I've had one for a few months now, works a threat.
