Chin spoiler protection

Hi Guys

Just wanted some advice on protection of that all too low chin spoiler on the GTO3-R (I notice the M400 has better clearance).

It's painted black and covered in white specs a scrapes at the bottom, which really spoils the otherwise very good body. One thing I have been thinking about is putting a rubber strip around the edge (similar to the door seal but thinner) which will cover current damage and maybe reduce the marking of the black paint.

If anyone has a good solution I'd be keen to hear.

Un bolt it and re-spray it with satin black paint (after rub down and primer) from Halfords.

Job done.

months ago i was looking for a suitable replacement material as the original is soooo flimsy.must get my search head on .i am sure when looing in the work stores i spied something flexible and not to rubbery looking to do the job

Like all front splitters it is designed to be flimsier (weaker) than the surrounding bodywork. If it gets hit badly it will tear the bolt heads through the splitter instead of damaging the front clam.

I Drew mine (1/4 splitters) on cad and had them cut out in black acrylic. If you hit them or put big stress on them they will crack at the bolt point before the clam. £30

The company I found on ebay and that was the cost, I'll email you details and the cad file to send.

Check the state of the bolts/rivets too. Mine had been worn down and the splitter detatched at circa. 2.1 leptons. Made an awful noise and only just missed the following car.

Once re-painted you could fit paint protection film to the leading edge to avoid having to do it again.

can you get a pic up of the stuff and me know how hard and the width etc
