Best Wax

Hi Guys

Sorry second post in 10 minutes.

Looking to buy a good quality wax to provide best protective layer to reduce stone chipping. Can anyone recomened a good one based on experience.

Auto Glym Hard wax,or Resin polish is what I usse on my fleet of vehicles have use their products for 25 years with no ill effects

use a wax that is as hard as hell to remove once applied.the guy who paints my cars hates the stuff .very tuff and lasts at least 6 months.not very shiney so use dodo juice for that purpose on a very regular basis with stunning results.will get the name of the tuff polish when i venture outside.just carnt remember what its called for some reason right now ,sorry

Be great if you could let me know the name of the tough wax. So do you apply the tough wax then use the Dodo juice on top to bring the shine?

yes.i use purple haze dodo juice as the colour of my car is imperial blue.will get the name of the tough wax tomorrow

To be honest, the only ways you're not going to get loads of chips in a Noble are, A) don't drive when anyone else is or B) drive everywhere backwards.

I've got some more flexible undercoat on mine now, but to be honest I don't expect it to be much better. I'll let people know when I do!

The only way a polish will stop stone chips is if you glue the bottles it comes in to the front of your car.

Collonite 476 is the detailers choice and won a whole load of tests. It lasts well and is easy (ish) to apply. Use it on all our vehicles. Better than Zymol, Autogltm et al

sorry for late reply,i forgot.the really really hard wax i use is called car lack 68.i also use a product from bilt hamber its called auto balm with anti corrosion properties .always use it on my everyday car as it leaves a really good shine also.as said collinite is a good soft wax and find no 915 the best of the bunch.the best soft wax by far is imho is dodo juice,brilliant to apply leaves no shadows or residue and the shine is deep.for swirls marks etc i use poorboys ss range its good by hand and by polisher

I used to valet cars a few years ago and was anal about my own car, now i'm the opposite, hate when the 'best polish' topic is discussed, everyone has a fav but as said above unless it's a showcar being moved around in a trailor, your getting stonechips weather you like it or not. I clean my car regularly but it only gets polished once every six months, to answer the question, Autoglym is the best overall i've used in terms of ease of use/time taken/shine/cost.
