Just looking at what could be wrong, if you may.

Somebody wanted to drive my car but it had a flat battery. First, this somebody attempted to charge the car battery with my battery charger but somehow the charger melted??!?

Second, the jump leads came out. Somebody jumped my PaJ and it started but somebody noticed it was low on fuel. After somebody gave my car some fuel via a jerry can, then the jump leads were connected back up. This time it wouldn't start so somebody went for a cup of tea. On her return, smoke was noted emerging from the battery area and sparks. The jump leads were on the wrong way around.

In a feeble attempt to cover this up, the fuses which blew have been replaced but alas the car still did not start.

Any chance just my battery is now broke or could the problem be worse (starter motor, ECU etc)?

Sounds like this somebody shouldn't be anywhere near a car.

Grab yourself a new battery to start with then work though what does/dosent work. Seems like the car had not been driven in a while due to a flat battery so hopefully thats the main problem.

There's a good chance you have fried all the electronic components - ECU, alarm, ICE and so on.

Fortunately I am still smiling. Ta for your replies and fingers crossed it's not going to be that bad once it gets to the garage. I love my car and the car loves me, she won't let me down... smile

I'm preying the ECU is ok....

Starter was missing a live and was traced to a couple of blown 40 Amp fuses I'm led to believe.

Fuses replaced and all is well.

I fear it could be much worse than a broken battery...broken relationship springs to mind but.....whistle
