Hi Stephen.

Sounds like it's massively overfuelling, if it is, it will probably be missing firing on some cylinders too?

If that sounds similar, you'll need for a start someone with some mechanical knowledge able to identify certain parts to inspect.

I had this recently, it was a dicky boost control solenoid, but not sure that the 2.5's had one (without looking)???
certainly sounds like a map (Manifold Absolute Pressure) problem so would concentrate in that area and with anything connected onto the intake manifold?

2.5's didn't have electronic boost control as standard but it could have been fitted since. I had mine done 18 months ago
