Who is confident enough to list the performance state/tune level of their car and how much they've had to spend to get there?

I'm interested to see who has done what, what they've achieved (only if it can be verified with a dyno plot) and what the component attrition rate is along the way. :-)

Spent £33K on the car itself.
Running 356bhp/340lb (ish - have graphs at home) in standard form.

Then spent around £2,600 to get it to 410bhp/390lbs.

Only problem I've had is my front turbo, but this was already leaking oil prior to the upgrade. Up to this point the gearbox and clutch still both (on the face of it) appear to be the same as they were prior to upgrade.

Not including purchase price of the car?
Add ons "performance enhancements"?

What was the breakdown of that £2,600.00 spent?

I would have said, Exhaust, Fuel Pump and re-map. smile

Mike.
Intercooler, altered cam timing, adjusted turbos (0.7->0.9) and remap. Thinking about it, the upgrade was probably nearer £2,200. The other £400 included travel up and down plus O2 sensors and one or two other minor things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Stil running standard exhaust.

I didn't know noble tuning was so expensive, roughly double what it takes to get a cerbera from 350 to 400 hp for instance. Why is it so expensive?

Lack of tuners maybe.

This is exactly what I'm trying to determine.
I can't see why it's (previously) been so expensive either from what I've experienced directly myself so far? redface

Items like a good intercooler are £600+. They don't actually give you any more HP either, just let you stop heatsoak robbing you of what you started with.

Not wanting to jump off track here at all, but a good intercooler will suffer the same amount of heat soak as a bad one.
Keep em coming though guys, it all helps. biggrin

Don't mind doing that in the slightest, stick another topic up about it Phil and I'll jump across there and do it if that's OK? I want to try and keep this thread relatively "on topic".

Good idea. Probably best if you start it off with your thoughts.

Mike.
This is something I've often wondered about too. For example, I used to have an Esprit V8. 350bhp as standard ( i.e. same as the Noble ) but it's very easy to take that to 400 or 450. With mine, it was dynoed at 425 and all I'd done was change the filters, change the cats and put straight though pipes on instead of a rear box. That's 75 horses extra for £500. And for £500 you just change the ECU Prom, no one has ever had a car individually mapped on a Rolling Road. In fact, Lotus would sell you a "Red Race" ECU tune for £1000 that gave 450 bhp.

So how come several companies, including Lotus themselves, can increase the power by changing the ECU Prom but when it comes to Noble that's not possible - i.e. opinion seems to be that each car *must* be tuned individually ?
