Uprated manifolds

Got a set of the stainless uprated manifolds delivered yesterday. They look much stronger and the welding is nice.
Have'nt looked in great detail yet but will tomorrow but internally they are smooth and welded at the joints which the standard ones were not so hopefully there might be some performance gain also !

i've got a new style rear one awaiting fitting tuesday. Haven't seen it yet but sounds promising. Its just a shame i recently replaced the front one with about the last new old style one in existance.

I've got the M400 ones already and the front one is badly cracked along the 2 weld lines so be prepared to replace them both !!

damn i didn't want to hear that! mine are for a 2.5 gto i think its a different design but im not 100% sure. i take it they will replace under warrenty. the factory told me they would guarantee the parts for a year. not sure if that means you have to pay the labor again though its quite a job isnt it!

You might be lucky and get a year, depends on your usage tbh.
I will be changing mine next week so will let you know !

I suspect that they are made to order but if you're interested contact Dave/Matt @ Jetstream Motorsport for more details.
Obviously they''ll cost more than stainless but on the racecar the costs of the turbos chewing bits of broken manifolds make them potentially very cost effective.

No but the nut behind the aircon pump is a pig.

I,m with Adrian on that one!!! having just spent god nows how many hours on my back refitting front manifold and turbo its bh of a job !! worst part is there is every chance i will have to strip it all out at some time in the future when they crack !!!

No but the nut behind the aircon pump is a pig.

I find it easier/quicker to just undo the bracket supporting the A/C compressor. If you just loosen the idler pulley, you can remove the top A/C bracket bolts and rotate the bracket towards the front of the car - that should give you plenty of room to get to the manifold nut. If you pull the bracket out of the car, you can grind away a little of the bracket, giving you a straight shot onto the manifold nut, making future R&Rs much easier...

had my newly designed (factory) rear manifold (2.5L) fitted today. the mechanic took pictures throughout the process apparently so i can post on here. he said the state of the original is shocking. he said the fitment of the new one is 100% perfect, very impressed with it. hes driven the car loads of times when it apparently had nothing wrong with it and when i just spoke to him he sounded like a kid again (he's not lol) bearing in mind he builds morgan race cars for a living he said it now goes like a rocket, almost as if i had been driving on one turbo all along.

cant wait to pick it up and go for a test flight!
