Considering the age of the cars now, the state of the economy etc is it me or do the prices seem to have held up remarkably well. I appreciate advertised price/selling price can vary, and they might hang around a bit longer generally, but a GT03 at circa 24 grand is still roughly 50% of its new price nigh on 6 years later,and M400s at say 35k to 40K is roughly 60% to 65% of it's original price 4+ years on.Very pleasantly surprised, can it continue?
Yes and no IMHO.
They're rare, the M600 will be in a completely different price bracket and for performance/£ they are hard to beat. Rivals from Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Lamborghini look to be stabilising - which will help matters. I dare say for the money, a well maintained example is probably untouchable until 5 times the value or more in terms of performance. I guess with the increased interest from various tuners and the impact of the rossion's development, there could be an increase in people seeing the Nobles with an eye to thier potential.
That said, the values of the competition have really taken a hit and I am not yet sure if they've impacted much on the Noble. Its also a pretty marmite car in my opinion, though I am warming to the looks a little. Equally, I am not convinced many are selling - I've watched the classifieds and although a few disappear at times, a quick search shows up they're still in the hands of thier owners... Though that could be because there isnt much to replace them with and they have come to thier senses?
Either way, as has been put above - I doubt theres much to compare in terms of performance - so why care about depreciation? I've been through this with the Cerbera, its currently uneconomical to repair technically - but it'll get a body-off rebuild all the same and come back fighting harder than ever. It makes no sense, but its a keeper, theres not much else to compare - and as things stand, it makes more sense to expand the fleet than get shot of it. I think it'll be joined by an M400 before the years out.

Have you seen the thickness of Top Marques magazine recently???, are people not selling because they are worried about the lack of buyers and therefore the price in general, or are they sitting tight hoping it will all get better soon???. It is affecting all areas of car sales, that much is clear. But the Noble is a "niche market" and the fact that at present there isnt a new model on the road to age the current 3R/M400 is also helping to keep the price value above other marques depreciation. I feel that a Noble will increase in value, (as said before on this site) as the supply dries due to accidents breakages etc etc. But more importantly the buck for grin value is unbeatable-roll on the M600
I've been surprised too, but looking at car values since christmas most have stabilised and most bread and butter cars are now going up in value slightly per month.
Saying that there are certain cars that are that exclusive and desirable (Ariel for example) which were also so well priced at launch that they will always retain a good portion of the original value.

what are the real prices though ?
plenty of 3r's up at 29-33k but are they selling at the price ? Some of them have been on sale for a very long time now.
The only one that seems to have sold through PH of late was a 2004 with <20k miles that had an asking price of 26,000 so given an offer it probbaly went for 25k. That's a bit different from 29-33k.

You are right, there are cars in dealerships that have been there over twelve months, what is the point of that, apart from keeping prices up I suppose.
I know some of these are being sold on behalf of the owners, but not all, just seems bad business sense to have stock sat around, when all it would take is a very slight adj. in the asking price.
Oh well, at least for all you owners out there it helps with value, keep enjoying them.

well its possibly like many other dealers who bought at 2008 book so they really cannot afford to level the car off because it would mean negative equity.... so as long as they can service their loans, they choose to sit on the car for months or even years and wait for that one golden buyer who doesnt know the market or care about itYes SJC it is mine, I think when they put the

As the buyer of Steve1`s 3R I`d make the following comments. The `official` dealers need to keep the prices up as best they can to limit the marques depreciation. This means that more people are likely to buy not only second hand cars but also the new model when it arrives as they see that their money won`t be eroded too fast during the ownership experience..... But it is then a bit of a `chicken and egg` situation as they actually do need to sell cars to stay alive. However they have a big chunk of the market when you look at the private versus dealer numbers of cars for sale. By and large the official dealer cars are low miles/low owners/full Noble service history - other trade cars aren`t always - and this is reflected in the price. The decision by a punter such as myself was - do I pay the difference between the official dealer price and a private sellers? Having looked at quite a few cars the answer was Steves car was the best value so I bought it. I`m still trying to get my head around the performance and road holding - what comes close at anything like the money!
