Fuel levels

As a new 3R owner - of all of two weeks now and still blown away - I did that most `un-bloke like` thing and actually read the owners handbook.... It states that " under no circumstances must the fuel level be allowed drop below 1/4 full. Although extremely unlikely, fuel starvation and subsequent engine damage can occur if the fuel level is allowed to drop below this level". Can this be true? Is the fuel tank so devoid of baffles that fuel starvation can occur when there is still loads of fuel in the tank? On my car the tank is still about 45% full when the gauge reads a quarter full. Is the handbook written to cover track use (it does however say `any` circumstances) or was it some sort of warranty get out clause? Has anyone actually had a problem?

Its for track use as far as i know, although i have a 2.5 and when i'm showing empty there is about 15ltrs left.

The 3r is a bit different.

I believe that it is for track use, and the advice is to keep at least 1/4 tank, however, it would appear that on many cars, the tank is 1/4 full even when the gauge shows empty. On the M400 I believe that there is about 20 litres in the tank when showing empty.

Conrad is essentially correct. In most of the Nobles that I have come across when the guage reads 0 there is usually between 12 - 20 litres left i.e 1/4 tank. Normally this give a good enough range.
