I`ve just measured my 3R - from the underside/end of each sill to the ground and all 4 readings are in the range of 125/128mm i.e. a nominal 5 inches. Some of the spread maybe the uneven floor - some the way the spring seats have been set. The car has standard size/profile tyres fitted and recommended tyre pressures. I can`t see that the type of damper would make any difference. I`m told that all the cars were corner weighted by the factory - I`m not sure if this is true or not.
