Can some one please confirm the rear drive shaft hub/nut locking arrangement. My 3R has paint lines indicating whether the large centre rear hub nuts are undoing or not. On the drivers side the paint line goes from the centre shaft over the nut and is then picked up on a wheel stud - all OK. On the passenger side the centre shaft paint line aligns with the large nut but is then some 45 degrees out from the marking on a wheel stud... Now I`m guessing that maybe someone in the past has removed the hub to change a bearing etc and then not replaced it in the same orientation - I guess there are splines between the shaft and the hub. I can`t see that the nut has loosened as it hasn`t moved relative to the shaft. I then had a close look at the nut and what seemed to be a lock washer bent over opposite flats - but now I`m not so sure it is a lock washer as it looks to be part of the nut which seems to be made from what looks like a series of laminations. Is this a `composite` nut assembly - is there any locking arrangement for the nut - any other explanations for the non-alignment? I don`t want to apply huge torques to the nut fastening until I understand what the design arrangement is. Everything seems however to be tight with no movement between the hub and the shaft. Thanks in advance for your help!
The picture above shows the porsche nut that people tend to use as a replacement for the standard Nobe nut.
The Nut you describe is the standard Noble nut as originally fitted to my M400
The only thing hold them on is very night load and loctite.
I think the the torque is 270 nm from memory - so tight I had to buy a new torque wrench specially.
The passenger ones do have a habit of undoing themselves leading to vibrations under load and hard cornering.
My drivers side came undone and caused lots of vibrations under load and heavy right hand corners.

First indication of a loose nut is a long brake pedal...
I had exactly that after my first trackday in the Noble.Couldn't work out why as I checked and double checked the brake fluid and bled them.
Still the peddle went long, finally found the problem but the slight movement in the drive flange had a)ruined the bearing and b)ruined the flange. Luckily the hub was OK.

I noticed this at the weekend, had to tighten mine up - how much are replacement hubs as a matter of interest?
Porsche hub nuts are about £2 odd each, I think.Probably the cheapest Porsche part you can buy!!!

From what I've heard the actual hubs are rather expensive.
