Battery Maintainer

Hi guys,

I am looking for a battery maintainer that I can use with my M400 to ensure that the car starts first time, even if it has not been used for a few months. Can anybody give me any recommendations? It needs to be able to plug into a normal plug socket.

I've not got a Noble, but can recommend one of these, you can have the leads hard wired to your battery, then just plug the other part in as and when you need it

Do you have to disconnect the battery from the car, to connect the battery to the charger, and then to the mains? Or do you just leave the battery connected to the car and add the charger to it?

I use this Ctek one.
Got the cigarette lighter adapter, so just plug it in the cigarette lighter socket when I leave it in the garage. Works great - never had a problem with it.

I have heard however that one or two people have had some issues with using the cigarette lighter, in which case using the supplied leads and leaving them connected to the battery is the other way to do it. You should be able to mount them so that you don't need to open the rear clam every time you want to put it on charge.

Most people use a Ctek or the Accumate/Optimate unit.

the battery is connected all the time, there is a pair of fused wires with a two pin connector that you hard wire to the battery, and the charger connects to that. no need to take the battery out the car

this is the bit you hard wire in

I have found a few CTEK chargers on Ebay (see below); are these the ones i should be looking for?

Will these chargers allow me to leave them connected to the car at all times to maintain the battery level (only charging when needed)? Will they come with the cigerette lighter attachment and UK plug?

Sorry for the stupid questions, just wanna make sure i get the right one!

Hi guys,

Regarding the cigerette lighter; do you leave the charger plugged in at all times? If so, how do you close the door and lock the car overnight?

Im off to think of more silly questions...........

Yep leave it plugged in evertime i am not using the car , just close the door on the cable plenty of give in the rubbers .

Yes - leave it plugged in all the time. As the car lives in the garage, I just leave the window very slightly ajar so the cable doesn't get crushed, and hang the cable out the window before locking/alarming the car.
