Has anyone removed the wing mirrors from the door bracket?
As I like playing I have bought a couple of replacement electric mirrors and switch from a Rover 25. I have removed the existing Rover door brackets (that was fun!) and now have what I hope are direct electric replacements for the current manual mirrors. I will have to remove the door cards etc in due course but before I started the wiring project I just wanted to double check that they would be an identical replacement but the Noble mirrors are bolted to the door bracket and the nut is not easy to get at.
Has anyone tried this and been successful as I don't want to damage the current mirrors in case the replacements don't fit. Any tips to getting the nut undone would be appreciated.
If anyone else has done this please let me know where they put the switch as there are a number of options.

I am in the middle of fitting power folding mirrors off the rover 75 and the nut you talk about is a biatch! I drilled it either side and then split it in two halves as it is loctited on. As for the switch its fairly big on the 75 so I dont know where to put it either maybe hide it under dash. Gaz

Thanks - not suprised I could hardly get it to move - drilling it should get it off but I was hoping to reuse it. Where did you source the replacements from?I was quite happy with just electrical mirror until you just mentioned power folding
Ah thats just it I dont need replacement nuts as the 75 mirrors just bolt on. Should be able to source something though. Folding mirrors have been a challenge due to clearing the alloy mount on the noble when folded in but nearly finished now just the wiring to put in now ive sussed it all out.
Hi....sorry I missed you. The original mirrors are being sprayed the same colour as the car as they were grey. The red ones were from the electric ones I bought but I thought it would be funny to put them on the car. So don't worry they will be removed pretty soon.
Carl - shame not to see you but you should see under the bonnet of the shed now as I mistakenly bought all the Pro Alloy parts for an M400 - hard pipe kit, header and breather tanks. Makes quite a difference. Also ordered the grooved discs all round and Pagid pads to play a little harder!

Ok....electric mirrors now fitted and colour coded to the car . I have done a fairly full write up and posted it on Nobleparts.

.....the Noblemods electric ones were £950
