Does anyone now the score with the back lights on this one?

They look like the American rear lights to me.
Would have thought this was a retro fit to a UK car.

RHD, so UK car with US rear lights.
That's what I thought, but I didn't think those were legal here?

they come from a hyundia sonata .i have 2 sets of these light units and both are uk spec.think i will ring the guy with the 400 to see who did the conversion as ive got someone ready to chop my clam to bits.not really sure if its worth the hassle as i still like mine tinted

I think the car was an import from South Africa so will probably have been a factory fit on the lights. Is there not some other differences in the rear clam? The lights look taller than the originals.

I wouldn't bother if I were you, I rather like your tinted ones.
