Firstly thanks to Ian and the lads from H&S ,collected the car back from them yesterday after only 4 days !!! they have done a very very nice job , quality is awsome and i am very pleased with the look and sound .
The noise levels are 94db at 4000 rpm and 96db at 4500 ,it is much quiter at tickover and cruising at 60mph 70mph 80 mph a vast improvement ,over the std system .
Have not given it any welly yet as after advice from this forum ,im going to wait until mike has had chance to check it on sunday at the Dyno meet ,all i will say is its a much deeper sound very aggressive !!!
Price will be £700 + vat and about £100 fitting ,delivery is 5 weeks !!

You will definitiely need a remap after changing to a true dual exhaust. It will run too lean at upper rpms without one. That's how restrictive the stock exhaust is. You have changed the AFR by allowing the engine to breath better. These engines are very sensitive to any improvements to intake and exhaust flow and the stock ECU cannot adapt to it on its own.TuxMan said:

Maybe, maybe not.Only when pushing on will it make any actual difference, and if the AFR was on the rich side, (which is common on standard cars) it will only make a small difference and probably still be within a workable range. Always best to get checked though.

No , no need for a remapp but would be a good idea to get the best out of the mod although the gains in std form were there to see !!! and with some mapping tweeks a big step in power is a pretty easy option ,the general opinion is its a good improvement over the std box for similar money !!!

The dyno basically showed a dual box system gives approx 20bhp and allows quicker spool up and increased power at high revs. From what I remember from the results the exhaust also leans the engine as it breathes better so a remap (or RR run) is a must really to ensure correct fuelling.
Another thing the day showed is all the standard cars had maps that could be improved on and quite a few showed dramatic boost loss at higher revs which seems to be caused by fault actuators.

You are getting some bad advice, IMHO. You need a remap. Keep it below 6,000 rpm in the meantime.Edited by TuxMan on Sunday 19th April 22:02

Fault actuators? The loss in power at high revs is caused by the stock exhaust.
Fuel trim by the ECU only comes into play if the charge air temp is too high.

I'm not going to get sucked into yet another tuning row but I'll give you the facts from my car.
Peak boost of 0.54bar @ 4750rpm, dropping off to 0.45 bar from 5500 RPM onwards. It also shows poor spool up compared to others on the day that had consistant boost.
The exhaust definately showed gains especially at high revs and improved spool, the results from my car (and others) show a definate problem with the boost pressure.

Did you mean to say "faulty" actuators? If so, that would likely contribute to low boost issues, and it may not be a surprising issue considering the age and service history of typical UK cars.Another thing the day showed is all the standard cars had maps that could be improved on and quite a few showed dramatic boost loss at higher revs which seems to be caused by fault actuators.
