Well the search function is pants....

I have removed all the screw, handles and trim but the speaker area is not moving. Does the speaker cover come off first or are there some hidden screws anywhere or is it just my technique confused

Is there a build manual somewhere?

ha ha ha. been there 2 weeks ago. strange hey!

undo the 4 speaker screws and remove the speaker (plugs pull of the back) then ....now heres the good bit.... put your arm in the speaker hole and feel the back of the door card, at the bottom of the door card there are 3 or 4 butterfly nuts you need to unscrew. get those out and hey presto - card comes off.

i took the opportunity to buy new improved speakers from halfords at this point as well!

what you up to in there anyway out of interest?

Thanks - thought I must be missing something obvious. Does the speaker cover just pull off as it felt pretty wedged on!

What I am up to....well first thing is installing some electric mirrors. I could have just fixed the shaking mirrors on the car but I like playing with electrics so I thought I would try and swap the manual ones over for some solid electric ones (and I wanted to spray the covers from the grey ones that came with the blue car).

However once the door card is off it would be negligent for me not to look at the speakers - what have you gone for. Some components?

I was trying to pull out the speaker rather than the cover rolleyes. Now removed and door card off. Would have posted sooner but just spent the last 5 minutes trying to get my arm back out of the speaker hole....another week at the gym and there is no chance of getting my arm back in or out of the door for the butterfly furthest away!

However wing mirror is now off. Hopefully get the new one back on tomorrow as it is now beer time smile

that would be the best idea but for the sake of a straight swap and no effort i went to halfords and picked up some infinity reference 2 way 6.5inch speakers. they are a higher max output than the sony speakers. 60w as opposed to 40w, the head unit produces 52w so there is a definate if not huge improvement. worth £75 anyway. not quite the 2.5K system i had in my civic type R though!!! now that was impressive lol.
