How much HP is enough?

In case you have missed the latest in the U.S. horsepower "war":

(Note: all values are measured at the rear wheels--add at least 15% for a flywheel estimate.)

i suspect that is too much power in the lower gears, but this can be limited with an ecu that has the ability to reduce boost against road speed
i like the idea of the single turbo conversion, cheaper than two turbo's and can be mounted at the rear to help with heat build up
( i reckon that number is closer to 550 atw - not trying to start a fight )

I'm sure a single turbo will be great for numbers, but I can't see it adding to the drivability
Don't all the Supra dyno queens go that route?
The GTC development car had a single turbo, but it was small and Noble only targeted 300bhp with it. Whether that engine actually ever ran is another whole story.

Nice numbers, that's what we like to see.
That's extremely Laggy though, what Turbo's are being used?
Also, I'd be inclined to agree with Gadg, As it's a Dynojet, we'd suggest just into the 600's (Flywheel) On a Dyno Dynamics. (IMHO)
Why do we suggest that I hear you ask?
We've seen a couple of EVO's in the states recently run on both Dynojet then DD roads one after the other.
Evo 1........ Dynojet RR 501 ATW. Dyno Dynamics RR 386 ATW
Evo 2........ Dynojet RR 820 ATW. Dyno Dynamics RR 620 ATW
Both runs occurring on the same day between the 2 respective different Dyno's.
Mike.

Phil, you should know better than that. We had an engine running on our dyno during the development phase. Couldn't get the turbo to run off one bank and provide the boost for the whole engine, so we ended up feeding a bigger one from both banks. It ran in the car for a few days before being shown at the show, IIRC. Then Lee knocked it on the head based on the response from the show...Later, we found the rods slightly squidged (S-shaped!!
) - but then they were the standard items. So probably a good call at that point.YellowShed

Very similar percentage difference, interesting stuff!

It was a nice looking thing. Shame it never got built. I heard that the only car ended up in small pieces after someone got really bored with the whole project and attacked it with a jigsaw.

crkey a 30% over read lol, i reckon the owner was interfering with the dyno settings !
