rear wheel clunk !!

well after another busy weekened in the Noble it is obvious there is a clunk coming from the passenger side rear wheel , you notice it most when the wheel drops in a hole or as i come out of the drive , anyone got any suggestions had the wheel of today and there is no play on anything wondered if i could swap shocks over to see if it transfers over to the driving side ?? i,m guessing its a damper but there is no fluid loss and it seems to be working ok !!

Already done them guys , couple of weeks ago ,hoped that would fix the problem but no joy !! i,m now thinking damper or hub !!

My rattle only came about when the engine was hot, ended up being a worn lower rear ball-joint. Drove me crazy trying to locate it!

Have you checked its not your gearbox lol

Check the exhaust isn't hitting a chassis rail. I put a bullet cam under my clam once to film the movements. You wouldn't believe how much it all trashes around at times.

going to have a good look tonite , will take wheel off , it feels like the damper any reason why i cannot swap the over to see if the noise moves ??

Andy, does your gearbox prefer red or white wine then?!

Fixed it ......loose coil spring , nipped it up 5mm and sorted !!! now whats next ?

But is it not only loose when you jack the car up? Mine are exactly the same on the rear.

I guess when you drop of a low curb or go in a hole in the road the spring must shift in the seat , whatever it fixed the clunk !!! don,t see any reason why the spring should be loose ,when on full drop !!

Corner weights and ride height will need checking..

ideally you should but begs the question how many have been, i know for sure mine hasnt been!

Im getting some proper corner weight scales soon so you can borrow them.

thanks mate , been through all the paperwork and there is no mention of it being corner weighted , even so its poor that someone would corner weight and leave the springs loose !!! if that is the case shorter damper rods or longer springs would be a better option .
