Parked the Noble up and locked it using the key fob as usual, on returning to the car the alarm was going off. Tryed pressing the key fob nothing happened, after a while the alarm stopped going off. Pressed the key fob again and the alarm went off again but the doors were still locked. This went on for a while untill the RAC were finaly on the scene. They managed to get a wire in and wind the drivers window down and open the door from the inside. We managed to start the car but the passanger door is still locked. If the key fob is actuated it locks the doors, sets the alarm off and won't unlock the car again. The red alarm light on the dash blinks 3 times in a row as opposed to single flash.
Could this all be down to a fault in the passenger door lock?

Try a new battery and a reset to the blipper. I think there's a backup battery in the alarm too (others will confirm), if so suggest you replace this as well. Also if it persists inspect the door alarm switches for correct operation (mine stick out at different heights, shims, different each side, were added at the factory at build time to ensure correct closing operation - "hand built Sir"!), lastly, clean and check the rear clam switch as this is often a culprit. And lastly, YHM...
