Maybe I need a reality check then!
I was going by advertised prices on Ebay, Autotrader and Pistonheads where every car is over 20k, although I realise that actual sale prices might be below advertised prices.
£20k would have got me into their car, but mine is worth more than £16k to me so the deal won't happen.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to a track day at Donnington next Monday, so I'll be glad I kept the Noble I hope!

Seeing as they are selling for as low as 17k private I dont think that was wholely unreasonable!
I sold my porsche boxster S to buy my noble last year and that was a £45k car new and I got top price
at the time as it was mint... £13.5k!
Andy, I think he was refering to the car he was part Exing the Noble for being 43k not what the Noble was new.I sold my porsche boxster S to buy my noble last year and that was a £45k car new and I got top price

Bondy
Just sold my M400 yesterday
finished up with £33250
Thats a drop of £8500 from Dec 07
to May 09 (17 months).which is better
than my son did with his M3.
Purchased Mar 08 £49000 sold
Jan 09 £35000 thats 14K in
10 months
Whats the world comming to.
We have to wait for our next cars until
September, New FOCUS RS, it will no
where near be a good as a Noble or M3, but
I think it will hold its price for a
while as they are not making too many.
I will let you know whats its like
when it arrives.

really dont understand this rs bit.seems its us uk folk that keep the price higher than equivalant cars.my cossie sold for a good price many years ago and cossies with the same mileage are still around the same price today.mind you the recent rs focus i feel is struggling as owners are using them as everyday cars and racking up more miles hence lower prices. could also be the heritage and legecy from the mki and mk2 rs escorts from years ago
Not selling mine until 2010 (if at all). I guess if you can get one for a stealer's price plus margin. 16K + 4.5K = 20.5K you've either got a fair deal for an unmodded/unimproved car or a steal for a properly looked-after version.
If you can afford it keep the car. Negotiate hard on an imaginative "replacement" (for e.g. Astons, porsches, uber-merc's and BMW's are available at 2/3rds asking price right now) and every third day be pleased with yourself for keeping your P&J.
