Well its time for my yearly service to get that important stamp. Had my car for two years now, love it to bits but last time i got it serviced i felt like i'd been bent over backwards. Everything felt like it been hastily done with tools left in the car, critical mechanical work being slapdash etc(car had to be returned due to negligence). Yes its a cliche but i work dam hard for my money and feel paying over £900 for some 2nd rate work is a joke. My local mechanic could do a better job at half the price but without the stamp the car devalues. May the Noble monopoly on servicing rot in hell. Yes folks its harsh but so true.

Not sure having a non Noble (approved) service history devalues the car anymore. Jetstream seem to be very well thought of now, might be worth talking to them..

£900.00, you got off lightly.
Last "Service" I had was £1700.00 (1200mile). Turbo hose blew off the very next day!
Dealers will take you for what they think you are worth.
I wouldn't cross the road to piss on a small blind rodent between two hills if it were on fire. wink

as said before when i bought my car it was full noble history.it had only just been done when i picked it up so felt no need to inspect the work.sooo sooo sooo wrong.how it ever passed the mot done at the same time with 15% co levels and the list is endless.i believe letting these wa''ers service the car for much longer would have killed it

waste of money !!! use the mechanic you know and trust , get all the bits yourself with all reciets and pay sensible service cost !!! my car had full service history and it was in a sorry state !!! i,ve spent over 100 hours sorting it out !!! if thats de-valued it i,ll eat my hat !!

I second that Tuxman

My car looked immaculate, but it has needed shedloads done to get it up to an acceptable standard

Very simple engine to service especialy with the great access you get with the rear clip removed !! instead of a stamp in my service book you will get all the receipts and a 5 page report with photo's !!! would that de-value the car ???

Yes its due its 6000 service. The Mechanic i use does all my other cars servicing etc and used to do my R34, Evo etc. He told me the Noble was one of the easiest cars to service. He has sorted out all the niggles on the Noble and even pointed out the error of the garage which had got £900 off me. It might not have that official service stamp but i know for a fact he will service and rectify any niggles 100%.

I am slightly bemused why some people expect a £60,000 hand built car to be serviced for Ford Focus money? If I take an equivalent "mainstream" car ala X5 then it's about similar, a "half price" car like the Z4M it's also about par.

My last service was £3500 from those nice people down at Mole Valley because on a 4 year old car there was quite a lot that needed sorting, but overall the M400 still has cost me far less in servicing and consumables than 4 years of servicing and consumables than the last X5, so who am I to complain???? Sure the X5 has did twice as many miles, but it puts it in context.

Hi Joust, not so much the cost of the servicing than the quality of servicing !! i for one do not mind paying as long as what i,m paying for is worth it !! Both my Mercedes and BMW have full main dealer history and will stay that way until i feel the quality can be got elseware . When i bought my Noble it was evident very early on that the quality of servicing had been poor and i could do better myself !!! or get a better service from a independant garage . Dont think Son of Quattro would have complained if they had done a good job . Simon

Ah, sorry, perhaps I missread?

For me Moley have always been excellent, friendly and highly compentant. Add in that you are paying "rural" rates and I'm not sure you get better for a main dealer stamp.

Even this time when the whole underfloor tray was rotten they got a local engineering company to fabricate one as it was cheaper/better than just replacing with a new OEM one. As usual there was many phone calls with good discussion with me on options, including if stainless rivits or screws were the best solution for sticking it back on.

It apparently took Warren 9 hours to get the old one off (it was in a right state) and stick the new one one, but with Moley's out-of-London rates the whole bill was exceptionally reasonable IMHO. To boot they got the whole car valeted to get rid of the musty smell from where it was leaking, and still threw in far to many "freebie" small things I really can't fault them.

If only my local BMW dealer was as good. Still, with the 5 year warranty at least BMW CS is paying, not me, but I am still shocked at the amount they manage to charge for oil - I though Moley was "bad" (40% markup on bulk prices) until I saw what BMW can charge for a tin of Mobil.....!!!!

Of course I'm posting this in the danger that Warren starts to stop forgetting to charge me for the small things, especially when Charles reads this biggrin

My M400 is off to Jetstream in a couple of weeks for a big service including all fluids, tunnel mod, fix the knocking Roush, and MOT.

They have a very good reputation and they don't charge the earth.

!! i see your point about a 60.000 pound car but every part is a ford nearly £3000 is well steep in my eyes and as i own my garage i wouldnt charge that to take the engine out let alone service it!!! that why i think the boys at jetstreen are good they do a good job and charge fair money!!

I can only agree with you there Saucy.

I just had my 18000 service.

The car fought Dave all the way till the bitter end but he would not be beaten.

Nothing but praise for the guys and they Care!!!!

Great price too and the cars running better than ever.
