hello! I have a question! a / c noble after 5 minutes of operation, the compressor turns off by itself ..... and it lowers the temperature on ! you can give me some advice?

Not to sure of the question but the compressor will stop and start itself. This will be either on air temp coming of the evaporator to stop the evaporator from freezing or one of the pressure controls. You have two pressure controls HP (high pressure) and LP (low pressure). If its HP when the clutch engages the engine with slow due to the compressor being under pressure, will run for a few seconds and switch off. If is low pressure the compressor may run for a few minutes before switching off with little cooling of the air. HTH

On the subject of Air Con. Just how effective should it be ? I have an M12 GTO and the air is still warm with the Air Con at ful tilt. Is it worth having the system re-charged, or is it normally quite poor ?

If it's worth having it recharged, can anyone suggest a mobile Air Con specialist in or around Bury St Edmunds ?

I just switched quit cold ... after 5 minutes as it heats up if you turn off .... and then when they want to leave you cold! I tried high and flow and controlled .... and everything recharg gas ok! bohh

Got to admit, mine is pretty good, you can really feel and hear the compressor when it cuts in and out, it really does take a lot out of the engine power. I had mine vacuumed and recharged at kwik fit £45-00

The first thing to check is the operation of your temperature control valve--can you actually get unheated, outside air into the car with the A/C off and the valve on the dash in the fully cold position? If not, your heater control valve has to be re-set so that it fully shuts off all coolant flow to the heat exchanger. Unfortunately, even a slight opening will negate the cooling effectiveness of the A/C,

Yes, spot on. The A/C is charged in grams or lbs. Keep saying it, ring your local refrigeration company and ask them if they can do automotive, will be cheaper and they will understand how the system should work if there are any problems ie moisture etc

All done and working fine. The guy came out, spent almost 2 hours on the car and only charged £55. Result.

Id be interested in getting this guys number as mine needs doing now...

im not sure if it just needs a charge as not used the AC for ages but there seems to be no change between having the switch full cold and then pressing the AC on.... seem to remember a relay switching which I don't hear anymore?

You'll usually hear the sound of the A/C compressor clutch turning on (makes a big clacking relay-type noise), but I don't think it will turn on if the refrigerant pressure is too low or too high. Might want to get your system recharged, then see if it all works....

As a note on this, always use your A/C atleast once during an outing. The gas carries oil and the oil helps to keep the seals good, if not used they can dry out crack and then you start to lose gas. This is for any car A/C system.
