Squeaky

My air con compressor has developed a squeak which comes from the end where the belt is on.

Is there anything I can safely spray in there to ease it.

Has it got wet lately? All the belts and pulleys seem to squeak occasionally mainly after a downpour.they dry out and leave a rusty deposit that eventually wears away, taking the squeak with it.

It does squeak after rain as you said, always has but it aint gone away yet, I will give it a good run tomorrow and see what happens

All a/c belts squeak sometimes. Silicon spray (not WD40) whilst its running.
