Can my wife drive a Noble?

Thinking of buying a Noble.

But my wife is 5ft 2inches, has very very very very very very little driving experience.

She won't drive fast and will definitely drive within her limits.

But is her height going to be a problem? Is changing gear and clutch control easy? Is the throttle very twitchy? Can she handle it and is it easy to control at slow speeds? Or is it a car that needs to have high revs and good control to drive smoothly?

Well,

My wife is 5ft 5 and I had the seat adjusted (mover forward 2 inches on the runners)
dont know if it will go that far.

As for driving, they are very easy to drive at low revs and will pull from little more than 1000RPM.

But they are savage when your right boot goes down

My partner is 5'8" and can't reach the pedals..

Although i have this feeling i'm going to have to relocate the seat soon..

Being a short arse myself ( 5 foot 6 inches ) I have the seat as far forward as it will go. The only thing is to make sure you push the clutch to the floor, but as she's only an inch shorter than me I can't see it being a problem.

So is it possbile to get the seat rails adjusted?

Is the clutch light?

Perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to say that she just can't drive it.

Sorry, I was reading the Devil's comment about being 5'5". 4 inches is somewhat more.

No, the clutch is by no means light, especially compared to a more 'normal' car. Let her try and see I suppose.

As I said, mine was adjusted 2 inches, you do have to watch your fingers when you pill the seat forward though. I also know that Skip at Trimar centre has put blocks on the clutch pedal of one Noble. You should be ok with the brake and throttle pedals though.

Had the seat (chassis drilled) on mine so my wife could drive. She never does, but it does mean that it is much easier to get a fully packed set of luggage behind the seat. Personally I think it is worth it for this alone, should have been done like this anyway.

My wife is 5'2" and manages to drive it ok with the seat runners moved forwards about 4 or 5 inches! - Still needs a small pillow under her bum to give her more height!

Im only about 5ft 6 and possibily a half lol drilled some new holes last night and moved the seat slightly forward. Im so much faster now haha

It's an easy car to drive safely and slowly in normal circumstances, and generally forgiving of harsh driver input. I'd be wary of what could go wrong when the unexpected happens though - you could quite quickly find yourself pushing the envelope of your abilities, given the potential performance.

Also, remember there's no ABS or traction control, so careful and considered application of the pedals is required in challenging road conditions.

I had the seat moved forward on mine but find I need to reach back for the handbrake. I don't find the clutch heavy but the throttle still goes to the floor too easily, ha, ha.

Visibility is (comparitively) terrible, tricky in the wet.
It's not really for the inexperienced TBH.

my mrs is insured to drive mine butr has only driven it once, it frightened her once it cam on boost and she has never been in it since

mines in the classifieds at the moment, bring her along for a trial, if she fits you can buy it and drive away...lol

on a more serious note
I am 5 ft 7 and can drive without problem, to be honest if you are sensible when driving and dont get too heavy with the gas pedal the power is quite managable. rear visability is a bit restricted and parking can be a bit tricky, soon get used to it all though

bonus side is there isnt much room for shopping bags so she probably wont want to use it muuch anyway...lol
