My wheels are on backwards!!!

The left-hand (n/s) hub casting has a "R" cast into it and the right-hand side (o/s)has an "L".

Has it been reassembled incorrectly at some time in it's life, or is there a perfectly logically (or noble-y illogical) explanation?

i suspect the upright is symetrical and the hub will be so it will all be down the handing of the threaded nut....

On a ford granada the nut holding the bearing in right and left handed so they wont undo on braking as this force would be massivelly higher than accelerating.... however its not so clear cut on the noble (same bearing i beleive).

Porsche decided it didnt matter and fit the same hand thread all round and make sure the nut cant come undone by using a higher quality type of nut... I beleive you can use the porsche nuts on the Noble as an upgrade?

the hubs are not symetrical but close to a mirror image of each other. When u say left for instance is that from in the car or from facing the front of the car ? ? They cannot be assembled on the wrong side as far as I recall as I noticed this on my car also btw !

So the upright isnt symetrical and therefore it cant be fitted onto the wrong side of the car?... I will be under mine later today so out of interest I will check to see if mines stamped up the same.

The left and right I refer to is relative to sitting in the drivers seat facing forwards. Mines a UK-spec right-hand drive model (in case that makes a difference).
