Hi Phil...............wow talk about open a can of worms !!!! it normaly gets a bit fiesty when it comes to tunning on this forum !!!
The general opinion is a std car will make about 420bhp and 400lbft of torque but it does depend who you talk to .
to get to those levels you will need 2 actuators (£150) and a remapp (£450) but there are some that feel these levels are not possible without other upgrades .
You pays your money and takes your choice !!!!

Oh hell what have i started.. im up in the north east, sunderland to be precise so im not really sure who my closest specialist will be for remaps etc. Will have to do some digging. I've noticed a quick clicking like sound when the turbos spool up but it can only be heard from inside the car dont think its the turbos any ideas?Regarding actuators, as I understand it :
The standard ones are about 0.5bar, so if you remap the ECU so that it increases boost past 0.5bar then the wastegates will open so boost levels above 0.5bar are not possible ( i.e. it acts as a mechanical override to the ECU ). No doubt someone will come along and say that's not quiet right, but I think that's the gist of why you need stronger ( 0.7 or so ) actuators.

the stock actuators are more than up to the job to run 1 bar

not quite true as far as im told... 2.5s with the mbe ECU upgrade to 340bhp (pretty much all of them) will have an EBC fitted at the time of the upgrade. as they have pretty much all been upgraded you wont find many with out an EBC.

Hi,
Reading the site that I got the uprated actuator for my MR2 from, a stronger spring will prevent wastegate creep. To a certain extent this can be dealt with by mapping it out, but ultimately the exhaust back pressure element of this can only be overcome by the mechanical side of the wastegate mechanism i.e the spring preload.
If (as is rumored) the wastegate spring was deliberately soft on the Noble as a failsafe should the electronics side try to over boost, then I guess it is possible that the cars might suffer this condition particularly as boost is increased away from the design criteria.
I would assume with a spring matched closer to the peak boast required then you would take some Wastegate creep out, but whether it is noticeable or not on the modest boost pressures we run I don't know.
I don't profess to be an expert, I did notice the difference on the MR2, but would genuinely be interested on whether the above is sound theory or not for my own knowledge. (and lets keep it civil please).

Mine had the mbe but not the ebc.
It would be intersting to know from 2.5 owners on here who have an mbe ecu whether they also have an ebc.
