I don't want to have a bike carrier ... it is just useful if it can carry one. I have access to another car if I need to carry my bike. But it was just a thought after seeing a 2 seater sports car carrying a bike the other day. It doesn't necessarily need to carry a bike.. Especially if it's a first car and you want to have a bike carrier .....what happened to the idea of an Exige?As for my budget constraints, the constraints are based on the amount of available cash I have at the moment and how much I WANT to spend. The running costs would be taken from my savings that are generated monthly. I have allowed for £6k for running costs per year which I think should be more than sufficient.
As for the Exige - I can get a Noble for a bit more, I believe I can afford to run it, so why not get what I really want?

.....plus the older/cheaper cars are undoubtedly going to need more maintenance/repairs (radiators/turbos/actuators/floor pan/heater are just a few of the recurring problems that come with age/use).I would try and buy newer/better condition than the OP budget suggests and then control running costs by maintaining the car properly.

Hi, can you test drive a model from your local dealer (do you have a local dealer?) and go home and park it in your garage? Alternatively, and despite online appearances we're a friendly bunch here so, if you could locate a member of the Nobility within stiking distance to your house I'm sure they'd oblige you by parking their P&J up in your garage for measurement purposes and offering Nob natter session too. From wing mirror to wing mirror and from back to front.
How much do I save by folding the wing mirrors in?
I need to see if it will fit in my small garage!

I use one of these on the wall to make extracation from the Nob easier 
I also use these for the walls - proper jobbies and far superior to foam or carpet...

I beg to differ .. little used cars often bring their own problems, well used often means "most problems sorted".n2h
I don't use mine that much but I always get it out and give it a run once a week.

To me better condition would include "most problems sorted" and agree that little used could results in different problems - that's why I like to get my nob out whenever I can and give it a good hard thrashing
. That said used often does not necessarily mean most problems sorts and hence "better condition" - there will be well and poorly maintained cars like most marques (and this is what I saw when I was looking for mine).If a car has been well maintained and therefore "most problems sorted" then this is usually reflected in the price although at a significant discount to the actual cost of sorting those problems and hence I would rather stretch the initial budget and pay for a better starting point than have to sort the problems myself.
