wheels rubbing on the inside of wheel arch

i have just become the owner of a a noble m12 gto. when it is on full lock the wheel rubs on inside of wheel arch. not sure what is causing this any ideas ordoes this happen on the earlier models. the steering is perfect and does not pullto either side. the rest of the car is mint. also any advice on upkeep and general care would be great.

Does your car have the original wheels and standard size tyres?

no accidents and they look like the standard wheels that iv seen on every other noble i saw. i thought as first maybe it had been in accident (1 of those things i forgot to check with all the excitement) but the steering is perfect and would not be if in a crash.

i had checked that is was not in a accident i meant i did not check the full lock steering. very stupid of me

Yep my rub too but just have to learn to back off slightly when turning full lock,another noble charicteristic,abit like my last lotus.

you have made me so happy i was thinking i have bought a bad one. im glad someone else has this proplem. also does any1 no what the door handle cable came of as my passenger one is stretched

Std wheels and tyre size here, and I can get them to scrub on full lock. Just used to not doing it now.

As my 3R does the same I guess it`s designed that way....However I think if you get the `wrong` MOT inspector it can be a failure. Like the others I just don`t use full lock when manoevering/parking. I suppose really there should be some limit stops on the rack to prevent this - but the turning circle is so bad I think every bit helps. The alternative is to skillfully bash the panels so that contact can`t happen.

There are limit stops, well there are on my 3R.

i read somewhere the m400 had a wider turn from left to right to aid parking

When I ran the wider 048's Kerridges adjusted the lock stops so the tyres wouldn't rub on the inner arch, but the turning circle is really pants now

In addition to the wheel stops, it is probably also a good idea to check ride height. This kind of interference can occur (especially under braking) if the car is set too low.
IMO tire (or tyre) rubbing should not occur on a properly set up car.

got the car is really good. im loving it. and it does like a trip to the petrol station. im sure the ecom=nomy will improve once i get used to it and stop being so addicted the noise of the turbos. parking has been interesting today. but once again im sure i will get used to it
