Loss of coolant

Hi my car has been looseing coolant for as long as i can remember.My mechanic cant see where the problem is system has been pressure tested and all is fine.There has never been any signs of gasket failure temp never goes above 85 coolant is always clear in tank but after using the car on weekends when i go to use it in week the coolant has dropped off a lot.Can someone please help?

I have the same problem with my GTO-3 and suspect the seals in one or both turbos may be at fault. The exhaust gets a bit 'smoky' when idling in traffic which I've put down coolant vapourising in the turbos.

Mine is the same.....turned out to be weeping from one of the seams on the radiator but very difficult to spot as only under pressure and presumably just evaporates when hot so no real visible signs of any coolant. Nothing significant and just top up every now and then with ionised water.

I have the Proalloy replacement ready to drop in when I get the time to take off the front clam and will then drain and refill with coolant.

I had this with mine and spent a couple of days chasing down three separate leaks.

Two of the (original and rubbish) jubilee-type clips were a little loose and would weep when hot. These were the clip on the coolant line going into the rear turbo, and one of the lines going into the little blue box connector just inboard and down from the coolant tank. It was the latter that took longest to spot, so check the clips on that.

The coolant tank itself also had a minute crack in the bottom of the overflow tube - so swapped the tank for a new one.

Fingers crossed that's the lot for now - it's nice getting back after a run with the same amount of coolant you went out with!

you will be suprised were these things leak.i do believe it to be down to the jubilee type clips that noble used and also the very poor coolant hoses.i removed the under trays last year because i too was loosing water and was worried if the chassis had any rot under there.i removed all the coolant hoses and was amazed how weak and damaged the originals were.i found at least a half dozen signs of leaks.After the replacement of hoses for silicone types i was leak free for a while.it then again started to lose water not much but enough for me to check every hose on the whole car and replace all the old jubilee clips.it has since been water tight

Glad i'm not the only one with this problem. I thought it was just a Noble-ism but and could not be resolved.

I did plan to replace the pipes, at some point, anyway but def will now.

Did you just get a load of generic water hoses and cut/form to suit? I quite fancied pretty Samco hoses

if you use the search on here you will hopefully find loads of info on the water hoses.if using samco and the likes please get clips to match as the ordinary jubilee type clips are pretty useless.

Same on mine. Replaced all the front hoses as the old ones were in a terrible condition. I ended up doubling the jubilee clips on each of the hard to reach connections as they were still leaking a bit even with all new bits.

Had no loss for a while, now I'm getting a coolant disappearing again Grrrr! Where's my favourite tool?
