My 2.5 melts the 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump circuit every 6 months. The fuse doesn't actually blow and the adjacent fuses don't melt! This is just the plastic that the fuse is made from. Can't be engine heat or the others would melt. Got to say though that the little fuse box doesn't look all that clever. Is this likely to be a bad contact in the fuse box? Where can I get a new box and is there an improved one? Thankyou in advance for putting your planet sized brains together!
If the fusebox is anything like the ones used on cars over here, the wires are connected in back of the fusebox using 1/4" tab connectors. A good place for corrosion to occur. You can clean these up, then add a coating of dielectric grease to cut down on future corrosion. Or, seal them up with some silicone sealer, or pot them in epoxy, etc.
Or, you could replace it with a marine-grade fusebox from a boating supply store.
