anyone had trouble with overheating?
Discussion
I have been haveing problems with my car cutting out, it started a couple of weeks ago after i gave it a bit of welly and sat in trafic for about 15 min, i let it call down and ot restarted!!
today iv been out makeing sure there is no air locks all wires were ok, i let the car idle and the fans kicked in i left it idleing for around 20 min and the fans were going all the time,
i took it for a hard drive after and let it idle after and the temp gauge went off the scale again!!
iv checked head gasket as well
has anyone got any ideas as its staring to p*ss me off
the rad seem hot all over,
i have twin fans as well both are working
i havnt got a temp switch in rad or the pipe going to rad
has anyone had problems with flow ie, the water pump?
any help or check would be great
thanks

If you haven't already, you might try cleaning out your radiator, especially between the A/C condensor and the radiator core. Also, remove the fan shroud to clean the top of the radiator.
Otherwise, it kind of sounds like a water pump to me - works well enough to circulate water at higher RPMs, like when you're flogging it, but not well enough to circulate enough water at idle...

was at a show yesterday and the mondeo st owners club were there.i asked about common problems with the motor after highish miles .it seems the water pump has plastic veins that over time and distance do shred the veins.they have a firm that manufactures metal veined pumps to get over this problem..not sure if the pump in the noble is the same though
