Froggy's noble troubles
Discussion
Hi,
since I've bought this M12 GTO 3, I don't understand the engine performances.
There is a lot of cuts when I kick the power on fourth and fifth gear from 2800 rpm.
The car overheat when I drive a « long time » ( 20 miles !) at 4000 rpm by warm days (35° C).
Yesterday, I've a dyno test.
392 hp at 4540 rpm
463 lb/ft at 4267 rpm with more than 450 lb/ft from 3300 to 4700 rpm.
After, the curve is going down very quickly.
The fuel pump loks like the original, the exhaust too.
Fuel filter, spark plugs, temp sensor, oil, water coolant are new.
Turbo pressure seems ok on the gauge and on the PC (0,7 )
I think this car has been remapped, but how can I confirm it ?
What do you think I have to do ?
Hope what I write is correct for you
thanks

thats a long long way beyond std power... its got the symptoms of an engine running way to much boost... would have thought they would have checked the boost acuaratelly at the RR though?
Dont trust the in car guage.
i don't trust the gauge and the engine soft.Dont trust the in car guage.
I've to check the real pressure.
I think if you were running those sort of figures the standard gearbox and clutch would have cried enough by now.
I really don't think the standard GT25's will flow enough volume of air at 0.7 bar to make that sort of torque either as mine only made 400-ish at 1 bar with exhaust and fuel pump upgrades. The GT28's dont do it at 0.7 bar either so get your dyno figures verified just incase it was a bit optomistic.
As for the cuts and overheating that could be a multiple of things that need looking at and sorting in the flesh so to speak.AIMHO.
