Just watching Breakfast News ( I know , I know!) and there was a feature on top fuel drag racing. Those things go from 0-100 mph in 0.8 seconds and reach 300 mph after 1/4 mile.
Good God.

It almost doesn't seem possible! - I'm sure you'd need to build up to G's like that otherwise it would re-arrange your internals eek

I have attended a national drag meet here in the states, and there are no words to describe the sounds, smell and ground shaking feel generated by those machines when they are making their record runs. It's also interesting to note that the BHP required to run just the superchargers on those motors typically tops 400 eek.
