Dodgy Speedo Reading. With post this time!

I know the Nobles gauges are not renown for their accuracy, but are they far off. Are they a teleflex drive cable to the Dial and do they wear?

the reason I'm asking is that mine stops at 140 and then thinks about doing something or other and then jumps to a random speed higher. The car is still accelerating at the time of stoppage. I know that the Speed and RPM needles are matched and at 6k in fifth in theory it should be looking at 160ish, however the RPM gauge gets there but the speedo doesn't.

Mine is normally about 5-7 mph ahead of my GPS.

Obviously on a private track i only got about 147 GPS and it would have taken so much time to get any higher. Would be very suprised that you could hit 160 in a 2.5 un tuned?

I had 160 measured at VMax and the speedo read pretty much the same. It hit 160 well before the end of the track and there it stayed, it was not going to go any faster.

Nope, at work. We have a nice long straight, just for this kind of thing....oh, and aircraft.

hmmm maybe I need a bit extra "err" runway to try this.
