Exhaust Manifold Question

My rear one needs replacing(its cracked). Any idea of where i can purchase one and the rough cost? Many thanks chaps.

They can be welded if you want to save a few £££s. My front one cracked after a couple of hot laps round silverstone so i removed it and went to town with the welder. Done another trackday at bedford and still fine as it's now stronger than original. Just need to do the rear one now!

The factory sell them made from better and thicker material.

Yes i have thought about going down the welding route. As i don't use the car for trackdays then maybe this is the best way. Any idea what the cost would be in terms of labour????? cheers

They're still available from the factory or as stated above, can be repaired but if you take this course of action, ask the welder to gusset the manifold as well to add extra strength.

ive spent a lot of time and money on those. i have a 2.5 gto and split both front and rear manifolds, had them welded which although is a cheaper option still costs a lot in labour as they are a pig to get to and take off. both were welded by a noble main dealer, reinforced and then split again within 1000 miles. one was replaced with the old style original manifold, the last from stock from the factory then a month later when the other split i bought one of the new ones from the factory, same as in the link above. although a little more expensive (£400 ish i think but check as i cant really remember and it was a while ago) the quality is far superior and should last a lifetime. the factory give a 12 month warrenty on it anyway for peace of mind.

if i were you id just replace it as driving around with dodgy holey manifolds has messed with my mapping as the car has adapted itself to compensate for too much Oxygen via the lamda's and when the manifolds were fixed it ran like a pig and needed setting up again (more expense). ive spent over 2K in parts and labor messing around with welding options and wish i had just replaced them in the first place.

Not sure where you live but ive just had a total engine rebuild by Jetstream Motorsport at bruntingthorpe (exhausts are just part of my problems lol) and they were fantastic. their hourly rate is very reasonable as well, about half the cost of the main agents and they actually look into the problem to find out WHY it happened and fix the root of the problem rather than just fixing the damage for it to happen allover again. I wish i had found them 18 months ago!
