Hard Pipes and Manifolds?

I am going through the final stages of my M400 build spec and had some last remaining questions.....

Is there any benefit to these?

and I noticed a lot of people upgrade the air intake pipes to hard pipes.
similar to this:

Is there any benefit ? (other then cosmetically?) I notice the M400 build manual actually states 1G racing do not recommend them..

Yes, they don't fall to bits like the standard ones.

Yes, they don't fall to bits like the standard ones.

LOL... so... err... hard pipes offer no benefit other than aesthetics, and the "improved" manifolds just disintegrate in a different manor... got it..

the hard pipes seem to get hotter than the normal pipes which cannot be good.
not that I have driven a car with all standard pipes as I have only had the car 6 days.
