did he change anyones throw out bearing in there rebuild. he said about it being standard ford. i thought it was modded

They are modded. Approx. prices from Noble: £165 for 5 speed, £198 for 6 speed.

Mine was not modded, just standard bearing from Fords, which I have just replaced with the same thing, the Yanks use a modded bearing (well in insert with a bigger dia face) as maybe they use a different pressure plate.

I'm sure that I was told by them that the standard 'plastic' one was replaced by a better metal casing one.

hi i take it that you got gearbox out? took mine out in june its a real git of a job, had to jack engine up and got a bit brutal and used a couple of jemmy bars in the end. Even harder putting back but it will go, just dont give up, All the best steve

if you pull the outer cover to the bearing off, you can let the oil get in there !

My origional one had a metal casing and the standard one from Fords was identical.

lol. it was a pig off a job. engines over a bit. bars cut out. and just large amount off wiggleing. but there and all at rebuild place now. and clutch and flywheel. all excited cant wait. thanks for help and advice everyone

i didnt ask took there tuesday morning. was fonna ring tommorrow and see the damage. and also saw trevor (yellowshed) about clutch and flywheel

are you thinking of a ap clutch with a new flywheel ??

i think its a helix one. and lightend fly wheel. i just gave it to trevor. what you thinking of doing

Don,t know yet ,its one of those things i have to sort !! will be watching yours with interest !!! is yours a 5speed box or 6 ?

That's right. Helix do an off the shelf clutch for the six speed but not five. They did however tell me they would fabricate one for me if I sent them the old five speed clutch.
Didn't bother in the end as I'm reliably informed the OEM AP clutch is good up to 450BHP and I'm not going anywhere near as far as that.
