Just wondering how many M12's were ever built, how mant GTO, how many GTO3, GTO3R and M400.
Just came up in conversation and i did not know the answer, my friend said that all production cars have to produce a minumum of 1000 units? Not sure if this is true or not, doesn't sound right to me, i'm guessed they never made anywhere near 1000.

I also wonder how many there are actually left now, is there a register which would list all the M12's in the country?

I would guess a small percentage got written off, 50% are ready for falling apart, may be a good long term investment, my Dad sold his etype for £500, 30 years later they were going for 60k, do you think the M12 will ever be a collectable?

Original registration was an 05, im not quite sure exactly what month.

I have seen examples with 06 reg's, but not any later than that, so i assume mine is one of the later ones.

It would be nice to get an idea exactly how many there are and what colours etc...

Last UK car was pbsaxman's M400 build number R240. 3R's and M400's shared the build numbers in the UK I seem to remember.

Are you saying there could be 240 M400's? And so on?

Well, my son seems to think that 3r and M400 are one run of numbers and GTO and GTO3 are another run of numbers, I am just hoping someone can clarify

I think you might be right, we can put this to the test, build numbers on the R version onwards are build R100 etc..

Worty or PeterGuk will be able to answer this, what does it say on your build numbers? Does it start with an 'R'

AFAIK the R was only used on the GTO3R cars onwards. The GTO and GTO3's didn't have a letter prefix
